30-day on-prem trial
Run the fully unlocked DreamFactory platform on your own infrastructure. One Docker command, every connector and every feature, no sales call required. Live in minutes.
$ docker login registry.dreamfactory.com -u trial-01J… Login Succeeded $ docker run -d -p 8080:80 --name dreamfactory-trial \ -e DF_TRIAL_TOKEN=DFT1.eyJ… \ registry.dreamfactory.com/dreamfactory/trial # Admin UI → http://localhost:8080 # Trial license · 30 days remaining · amd64 + arm64
Your dashboard gives you the exact commands with your trial token, registry login and admin password filled in.
How it works
From email to running instance in three steps
No procurement, no provisioning calls. The trial is self-service end to end and the instance lives entirely inside your network.
Enter your work email above. We send a magic link; one click and your dashboard is ready with a 30-day trial token, a private registry login and an admin password.
Run one Docker command
Copy the docker run one-liner (or the compose file) from your dashboard. amd64 or arm64, Linux, macOS or Windows with Docker Desktop. The admin UI is up at localhost:8080 in about a minute.
Connect your database
Point DreamFactory at SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, MongoDB or any of 30+ sources. Governed REST and MCP endpoints are generated instantly, with live OpenAPI docs.
Fully unlocked
The whole platform. Nothing held back.
Your trial runs the same build our enterprise customers deploy, with every connector and every feature enabled for 30 days.
All connectors
SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, MongoDB, Salesforce, SOAP, S3 and 30+ more, all included.
Role-based access control
Roles, API keys and OAuth, LDAP, SAML or Active Directory identity mapped down to table, field and row level.
Server-side scripting
PHP, Python and Node.js hooks on any endpoint for validation, transformation and business logic.
MCP server
Expose governed tools to Claude, ChatGPT and your own agents through the Model Context Protocol, under the same roles.
FAQ
Questions about the trial
How long does the trial last?
30 days from the moment your trial token is issued. Your dashboard on portal.dreamfactory.com shows a live countdown, and the DreamFactory admin UI shows the same countdown in a banner, with a warning as the end approaches.
Does the instance need internet access?
No. The trial license is a signed token that your instance verifies locally, so DreamFactory runs fully offline or air-gapped on your own infrastructure. Only two optional requests leave the box: a one-time install notice to updates.dreamfactory.com and a best-effort daily heartbeat to the portal, both of which fail silently when blocked.
What is included in the trial?
The fully unlocked platform, the same build our enterprise customers deploy: every database and service connector, role-based access control with API keys, server-side scripting, the MCP server for AI agents, scheduler, rate limiting, logging and live OpenAPI docs. Nothing is held back.
What do I need to run it?
Docker 24 or newer with about 2 GB of RAM free. Images are published for amd64 and arm64, so Linux servers, Intel and Apple-silicon Macs, and Windows with Docker Desktop all work (a few ODBC-based connectors are amd64-only; your dashboard lists them). You get a docker run one-liner and a docker-compose.yml from your dashboard.
Can I extend the trial?
Yes. Email sales@dreamfactory.com or book a time with an engineer at dreamfactory.com/demo. We issue a new token with a later expiry. Put it in DF_TRIAL_TOKEN and re-create the container, because a plain restart keeps the old token: with Compose, edit the file and run docker compose up -d; with docker run, run docker rm -f dreamfactory-trial and then the same docker run with the new token. Your data stays in the volume. No reinstall, and no internet access is needed on the instance.
What happens when the trial expires?
The instance locks itself: the admin UI shows a thank-you page with contact details and every API request returns HTTP 402. Nothing is deleted. Your databases and connected systems are untouched because DreamFactory only ever held connection settings, and a new token from sales unlocks the same instance with its configuration intact.
Do I lose my configurations after the trial ends?
No. Nothing is deleted when the trial ends: the instance locks (the admin UI shows a thank-you page and the APIs return HTTP 402), and your services, roles, API keys and scripts stay in the Docker volume on your own machine. Extend the trial and everything is back. Planning to buy? Export your configuration as a package before the trial ends (in the admin UI under Config Import / Export), or ask us and we'll help you carry it over to your licensed install. Don't delete the volume (no docker volume rm or docker compose down -v), and keep your APP_KEY, which is in your dashboard and welcome email.
Do I need a business email?
Yes. Trials are issued to work email addresses so we can connect you with the right engineer. Free mailbox providers such as Gmail or Outlook.com are not accepted. If your company uses one of those domains, email sales@dreamfactory.com and we will set you up manually.
