# Managing Scripted APIs with GitHub and Your IDE

Scripted services let you build APIs in PHP, Python, or Node.js that inherit DreamFactory's role-based access control and API-key authentication. This tutorial moves that script development out of the browser and into GitHub and your normal IDE, so scripted APIs get version control and code review like any other code.
